| Smog was conceived, in all honesty, as an excuse to explore new packaging ideas. In Spring of 2009, with the first live show in a year quickly approaching, the need for some new material to offer adoring fans became pressing. Utilizing some CD packaging ideas that had been kicking around since Uncertainty, this new physical release was born. The audio encompasses some inspired pieces of brutal ambient and soft noise, in what has become the Controlled Dissonance style of mixed electroacoustic performances and digital manipulation. | |
