Wild sex in the working class

As I predicted yesterday, I didn't manage to get anything put together last night. I printed off copies of the collage, but the copy machine bent the card stock so badly that I'm having to press out the curl before I can use them. I'm also reconsidering some of the design elements of the collage. I may rework it, but I haven't made up my mind yet.

Come on in, feel free to take a look in

Stay a while, cos something's always cookin'

CDs - burned.

Inserts - printed and cropped.

Collage - finished.

Tracklist

I finalized the tracklist last night and worked a little on compiling imagery for the collage art packaging. The final tracklist follows:

1. When All Your Virtues Are Vices (previously released on no-R-mal CD4)
2. Unknown Title
3. A Dim, Pale Clattering (previously released on Thoughts Made of Sound; Sounds Made of Hell)
4. My Clanking, Screaming, Swelling Brain (previously released on Uncertainty)
5. Bass Guitar (previously released on Rotary)
6. In A World Of My Own
7. Whiskey, Water, Wombats

Hello Mrs Shaw. Could I borrow your lawnmower?

True to my promise (less so than my nature), I'm working on the tracklist for the guerilla marketing CD. I'd thought about simply repackaging one of my previously released albums, but stumbled onto a design idea that necessitated a seven-track release. I couldn't find anything recent and indicative of my current style that fit the mold, so I decided to do a one-off sampler compilation of seven tracks. At the moment I have some stuff from recent compilations, as well as at least one track from Uncertainty.

Guerilla Marketing

This weekend I undertook a long overdue endeavor. I organized my CDs. This isn't nearly the task it once was, since I'm down to roughly 250 CDs these days (moving then divorcing then moving, moving, moving, moving will really take a toll on your collections). I got down to the last shelf and realized that I didn't have enough room for all of my CDs. I started looking through all my noise CDs and ran across a couple of releases from a single artist that really got me thinking.

Oh yeah

I was supposed to make a list and accomplish something this weekend. Bugger.

Yesterday I did make a really fucking delicious dish of chicken braised in a ragout of mirepoix. And I went grocery shopping today. I suppose those count for something. Right?

I'm doing a little writing right now (and listening to Stevie Wonder, but the tasks are mutually exclusive, I assure you), and wondering if I should get some more beer and put some effort into the endeavor, or call it a night after this bottle and start again tomorrow.

Decisions. Decisions.

Weekend

Tomorrow is Friday, which means that another weekend is fast approaching. I think I'm going to start setting goals for my weekends, because they seem to be wasted on me. My weekends typically involve me sitting around my apartment staring at the wall thinking "Fuck, this is even more boring than work." I'm trying to resist the urge to write more noise, because I feel like I put out a ton of stuff last year and I should probably slow down a little and let something build that's worth creating, rather than creating merely to pass the time.

MLK Day

Tomorrow is a day of celebration here in the States. It's a day to recognize the efforts and contributions of one of our greatest civil rights proponents, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (yes, yes... I know it's still Lee-Jackson-King Day in the Dirty South -- but they don't count). My employer doesn't see fit to pay me for this holiday, so I'll be celebrating by going in to work, but I thought about how an egregiously white man such as myself should go about celebrating the holiday. I'm not much for holidays, but I think this one is almost important.

It's turtles all the way down

Yesterday I got some really exciting news from my favorite noise-artist-sans-penis (and yours!), Khate. She's taking advantage of her long weekend to focus on the preparation of her new 'zine, titled Pandora's Icebox. I'll be contributing something fictiony to the first issue, possibly starting a serial, but who knows. I'll keep you all updated.

Figures

Figures I'd run out of things to say within two weeks. I haven't done anything worth mentioning all week. Which is why I've been silent. Khate's been talking about putting out an old school paper 'zine. I'm hoping she follows through on the idea, cos I'm totally excited about it. I haven't read an honest to god 'zine in a very long time.

Also, Comedy Central should start playing Futurama 24 hours a day. Fuckers.

Eh. I'll find something more interesting to say this weekend. Maybe.
